Walk The Plank Virtual 5K Race Description
The WALK THE PLANK Virtual 5K is a fundraiser with the proceeds benefiting the Buccaneer Alumni and the Reading Buccaneers All-Age Drum & Bugle Corps.
This event takes place on what would have been the Spring Preview show. We figured why not put that idle time to good use!
Complete the virtual 5K anytime Friday, May 7 through Sunday, May 9, 2021.
What is a Virtual Run/Race?
A virtual race is a remotely held race managed by a race organization or group of individuals that allow individual runners the flexibility of racing a given distance at their own discretion. The runners are each responsible for running the given distance of a race within a set window of time set forth by the race organization. You can complete the race in whatever manner suits you - march, run, walk, hike, snowboard, bike, scooter, segue, roller skate, crawl, hop, silly walk, or whatever works for you.
Although virtual racing is not a new phenomenon, it has gained tremendous popularity recently due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has forced people to practice social distancing in an effort to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.
When you register, you can download a customized racing bib to wear during your 5k. Post pictures on our Facebook Page so we can cheer you on, and probably make fun of you which is certain to happen with our crew.
Proceeds from the WALK THE PLANK 5K go to the Reading Buccaneers and the Bucs Alumni.
