Tuesday Night Lights - Jan 5 Race Description

Race Overview

Join our evening race series at Soldier Hollow this winter! The series is aimed at providing a fun, low-key opportunity to bring the local Nordic community together to socialize from a safe distance, compete and ski.

Race dates include: January 5, 19 & February 2, 9, 23

COVID-19 Protocol

Soldier Hollow Nordic Center adheres to current CDC, State, Wasatch County and USSS Covid-19 Guidelines for the event, currently as follows:

–Please do not come to Soldier Hollow Nordic Center if you are sick or experiencing any symptoms.

–In order to enter the venue each race day, you must be symptom free.

–6’ Social Distancing must be observed at all times, and always if face coverings are not in place.

–At every competition, face coverings are required by all participants at all times when not physically distanced (less than 6 feet from others), except for training, wax testing, or racing.

–Face covering may be removed on the start line but must be put back on immediately after finishing and/or crossing the finish line.

–Non-compliance may result in disciplinary action.

–Documented medical conditions where you cannot wear a mask can be considered by the Covid Coordinator.

Race Details

A new LED lighting system will illuminate the trails around the stadium area to be skied after dark. Racing will take place on two laps of an approx. 3.5K trail. The available lighting will be just enough to ski comfortably; skiers may want to consider using a headlamp to add to the visibility. All races will be free-technique to allow for either classic or skating.

On-site Check-in

Details for on-site check-in, wave assignment (approx.. 30 minutes after arrival) and start number pickup at the CMB will be updated, and open from 5:00 pm-6:30 pm each race day. Start waves (including all ages of competitors), will begin at 5:30 pm and continue with a new wave every 15 minutes until the final wave at 7:00 pm.

No awards will be provided, and times will be posted by wave (ranked within the wave) and available on the event calendar item for the race day after the event.

Registration Information

For this season, all registration/entry payment must be done in advance online by 4:00pm the day before the race.  There will be no day of or on-site registration/payment.

Entry fee is $20 per race for adults (18 and over) and $5 for Soldier Hollow Annual Passholders and all under 18. Competitors can also pre-purchase entry into all 5 races before end of day January 4th for $80 and $20 for Soldier Hollow Annual Passholders and all under 18.
