Unseen Stories 5K Race Description

Join us on May 21st for the 1st annual 5K walk/run to support a local nonprofit, Unseen Stories - founded by Heath alumna and current Ohio State student, Lindsay Drumm.

The general mission of Unseen Stories is to spread awareness that everyone has a story. Everyone has a story and struggles that we each navigate daily. However, it is often easy to dehumanize one another and forget the "stories" that others possess beyond our own. Unseen Stories has begun to dive deep into two "stories" with hopes to expand. 

The first "story" is of those who battle a chronic condition. Unseen Stories has begun to share this story by the creation of support groups on college campuses for students with chronic conditions, the formation of an online support group, and a mentoring program for those newly diagnosed. 

The second "story" is for individuals with autism. While many resources have been created for those with autism, many individuals have still found themselves feeling alone and the victim of bullying while already navigating the traditional struggles of attending high school. Unseen Stories is in the process of creating a peer-to-peer mentoring program in which student leaders are paired with individuals with autism through a provided lunch after an educational day.

When: Registration begins at 9 am

Kick off at 10 am. 

Awards will be given to the following:

  • Male - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
  • Female - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
  • Male and Female 14 and under - 1st place
  • Male and Female 15-19 - 1st place
  • Male and Female 20-29 - 1st place
  • Male and Female 30-39 - 1st place
  • Male and Female 40-49 - 1st place
  • Male and Female 50-59 - 1st place
  • Male and Female 60+ - 1st place
