This was by far the worst experience I have ever had running a race. No police, 3-4 total "volunteers" leading runners in the wrong direction. Pitch black which is fine unless you’re a female running alone. Homeless people everywhere, urinating right off the trail. I get that this is an open course, but I felt extremely unsafe the entire time. Race organizer didn’t want to hear anything I had to say about how unsafe this race was. I will never do another race with On Hill Events again.
The race is poorly organized and is run in an area that is not safe without sufficient lighting or volunteers. Organizers did not properly scout the route resulting in a shortened distance and running through heavily flooded paths. The organizer seems like a good guy trying to do some fun things, but he doesn't have enough support, and the result is a bad race.

Well I’m unable to write a proper review because of character count… so we’ll make the point direct: Headlamps should be mandatory not just a “you may want one cause there’s a few bumps.†PITCH DARK, Huge roots along the whole way, people didn’t seem to know what they were doing at stations (like didn’t even know what mile you were on), fork in path wasn’t marked and we thankfully took the right way. My only suggestion would be more course markings. Thought I had taken a wrong path more than once. Loved the race overall!

Fantastic race! Loved, loved the course! This race was awesome because of the FUN! I don't think anyone was there specifically for a p.r or to win, it was just an adventurous, crazy thing, running 6 miles down a dark path alongside a bunch of runners decked out in glow sticks in the middle of the night! Awesome! I will sign up again!
