Great Bison Shuffle

The course is on the scenic Terry Bison Ranch. Proceeds from the race will be used to fund scholarships for EMT training and Emergency Nurse Certifications.

This is a rare opportunity to run/walk on an actual working buffalo ranch. The Terry Bison ranch was originally the south headquarters of the historic Warren Livestock Company and used for raising cattle and sheep. President Theodore Roosevelt visited the ranch twice in the early 1900’s. In 1993, the ranch was purchased by the Thiel family and the great American buffalo were introduced. The ranch is now 27,500 acres and stretches into Northern Colorado.

This scenic course is at times challenging. The terrain includes gentle rolling prairie pasture, a short rocky hill, and buffalo trails. The 10K and Half Marathon courses cross into Colorado and then return to Wyoming. Restrooms are available at the start/finish line and porta potties will be available on the 10K/Half Marathon courses. Aid-stations will be available on the all courses. Walkers are welcome to participate in the 2K and 5K.

Each participant will receive a complimentary ride on the Terry Bison Ranch Bison Train on September 11, 2021, a $15 value. This narrated tour allows participants a great close-up view of bison, ostriches, camels and a variety of other animals. Each participant will receive a delicious hot breakfast provided by Sodexo. Each half marathon finisher will receive a finisher medal. For an additional fee, racers will receive a one of a kind black Nike dri-fit racing hat embroidered with a buffalo.

Big Horn Racing Endurance Racing will be timing for the 5k, 10k, and ½ marathon finishers. Bog Horn uses ChronoTrack RFID timing technology, the industry leading provider of race timing and scoring solutions for endurance sports. The 5K, 10K, and half marathon courses will be chip timed for those who register by August 11, 2021. For late registrations we cannot guarantee runners will receive a racing chip.
