Windy City Halloween Fun Run

Join the Windy City Striders and Run Wyld at the Tate Pumphouse on October 31, 2026 for the Halloween Fun Run! 

We have a no-cost 1k kids fun run (registrations still needed for waivers) where kids can come out and get FREE candy from our local businesses! The first 100 children get a free bag to collect candy! 

We also have a 5k in true Run Wyld fashion with inflatable decorations throughout the course!

There is also a 10k and a half marathon. 99% of the course is on the Platte River trails with only two road crossings, making for an excellent run! 

The 1k fun run will head east from the pump house and come back. This event will go from 9am to 11am. 

The 5k will loop around 3 crowns, similar to the Turkey Trot.

The 10k will take you around 3 crowns and then into the woods past the water treatment plant in Mills before turning around and heading back. There is a minimal aid station at the turn around. We've heard of some spooky creatures in those woods...

The 13.1 mile course will also start at the Tate Pumphouse, running along the Platte River Trails to the Paradise Valley Park (for the Half) and coming back along the same route. There is a well-stocked aid station at the turnaround in PV in addition to the minimal aid station at the 10k turnaround. 

The 5k, 10k, and half marathon all start at 8am from the Tate Pumphouse. Your times will not be chip-recorded, but there will be an official clock to record gun start time.  

Runners and walkers of all abilities are welcome, as are kids (under 12 must run with an adult), dogs, and strollers.  The course will be open until 12pm.

Day of registration will be at the Tate Pumphouse from 7:15-8am, and all participants will pick up bibs the morning of.  Please arrive no later than 7:45am to check in if you are preregistered. Online registration will be accepted up to the start of the race.
