Demographic reach: You can target your email by event year, their location, their category, gender, custom question answers, etc. To reach a specific audience in our mailing system you go to messaging then click on email participants. You can then click on the participants and it brings you to an option where you can choose the recipients. The most common and basic email segmenting options are by category and/or year. For more advanced targeting you can select the advanced button to choose to email people that answered a question in a particular way. You can do multi-level segmentation. For example, maybe you just want to email people that ordered a 4XL shirt because your shirt vendor was not able to secure as many 4XL shirts as promised.
These tools can be best used when you need to reach a certain audience in a hurry. For example, if you know that there is bad weather in a certain state and that planes will not be able to reach your event from that area of the country, you can send an email to just the people from that state or country. Under custom messages, you can select Custom Email History and it will show you the number of recipients and the number of times the email got opened. This lets you know how well you are reaching your desired audience. It also lets you know if you need to change up your message to reach more of the desired people. Our email segmenting capabilities along with our reporting of open rates helps you measure the effectiveness of different messages for different types of people.

Before you complete the email and send it out, there is a button that allows you to preview the message before sending it. This helps to make sure that the spacing looks the way you want it to. This feature can also help you make sure that your message is getting to the inbox as apposed to the promotions folder or the spam folder. The location your email ends up at is largely based upon your file names of your images, how many images you have, the words you use in the body of the email and what you say in your subject line.
