Woodscreek Lake SUP Cup Race Description

RACE DATE: Monday, June 19th
RACE START TIME: 6pm
RACE Location: Indian Trail Beach, 228 Indian Trail, Lake in the Hills, IL

 

One of the best ways to get on the water this summer is to SUP or Stand Up Paddleboard- Basically paddling big surfboard style boards while standing up! This event is family friendly and open to all ages. Great oppertunity for new paddlers, recreational paddlers who enjoy competition and even advanced paddler can use this for training/exercise. This flat water course is lifeguarded and marked out with floating bouys that define right and left turns. Part of the challange is staying upright while making turns and finally completing the course with a beach finish to capture your division flag (see award information below).   • Youth 13 & Under: 1/4 mile
  • General Race (14 & Older): 1/2 mile

REGISTRATION INFO

  • ONLY online registration will be taken for this event
  • Unisex Technical shirt size guaranteed if registered by May 9.
  • Prices listed do not include processing fee's.
  • Registration is non-refundable and race entry is non-transferrable.
  • Each participant must supply their own paddle board, paddle and lifejacket.
  • Lifeguards will be on duty for the race course only. Swimming area will be closed during & after the race.
  • Warm-up area will be avaialbe pre-race. Swimming is not permitted in warm up area.
  • Event is untimed. However, course will be cleared of participants by 7:45pm.
  • Beach start and Beach finish.
  • Race bib must be worn on the left side of the body, during the entire race.
  • Fee includes facility entry, shirt, dinner/snacks and swag bag.

RULES & GUIDELINES

Parking: Free parking is available; limited parking.

Award Catagories

  • Overall 14 & Older Female Award
  • Overall 14 & Older Male Award
  • Overall Youth (13 & Under) Female Award
  • Overall Youth (13 & Under) Male Award
  • Awards will be given on-site, at the finish line.
  • Awards not distributed post-race will be available for pick-up the following business day at the LITH Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate. Awards will not be mailed.
  • Event is not timed. Awards are determined by the first female and male of each race divison at the beach finish to capture their divisions flag.

Post-Race Picnic: When you have finished the Woodscreek Lake SUP Cup race, enjoy the picnic from 6:45-7:45pm at the race location. The picnic will include beverages, pasta with marinara sauce, french bread and tossed garden salad. Wristband must be presented to redeem. One (1) meal is included with race registration. Additional tickets can be purchased at time of registration for $8 per person. Limited picnic tickets will be available for purchase race day. Child discount is not given. Must wear provided wristband to be eligible for picnic.

Refund/Deferral/Cancellation: In the event the race should be canceled for reasons beyond the control of the LITH Parks and Recreation Department (inclement weather or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made, but race packets, including race shirts, will be available the next business day at LITH Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate. Information will be available on Village of LITH website.

Refund Policy: No refunds for any reason will be issued for this event. Entries CANNOT be transferred or deferred to another event or year. NO EXCEPTIONS will be made to this policy. By registering for this event you agree to this refund policy.

Safety & Inclement Weather

  • Each participant must supply their own paddle board, paddle and lifejacket. 
  • For your safety and the safety of others, please allow room for faster individuals to pass you during the race.
  • Gear check is not available at this race. 
  • In the case of scattered showers (no thunder/lightning)- the race will take place.
  • In the case of a weather-related cancellation, we will not be able to reschedule or refund registration.
  • We will monitor radar in the case of potential thunder and lightning storms and make final determination on race day at 3:00pm.
  • The event will take place rain or shine unless there are conditions that may affect the safety and health of the participants. If dangerous weather conditions occur, race officials will determine if a delayed start is possible.

Volunteers
Volunteers are essential to the success of the race. All volunteers receive a volunteer t-shirt and a picnic.
