Warrenville Park District Firecracker 5K Reviews
I understand, wanting to accommodate people, but it was done at the expense of those who had already paid and signed up for the race. With an almost 30 minute delay it really threw off a consistent runners routine and warm-up, and can even create a recipe for an injury. And on a holiday that is packed with parties and hosting and activities, a 30 minute delay can throw off the whole day. I did not appreciate that Last-minute wrench in the plans.

I know that the race was delayed and the course redone a bit but the Warrenville Park District were doing their best. Very generous to allow the cancelled racers to join us. These issues will never come up again. Love the small town race. I was entered but did not race because of terrible jaw trouble. I was at the 3 mile mark directing all to take the right and pointing out the Finish line. Started when the fast folks came in view, but stayed until the last lady with her cane finished

My results are not listed. I tried to resolve this day of with the timekeeper and was told don’t worry about it. We will fix it. It was not fixed. I’m not listed in the results. I showed the timekeeper my garmin and he said that he would fix it later when he entered all the results. I am very disappointed in this, especially because the man alluded that it was my fault the timing may did not register my finish. I have run countless races, from 5ks to marathons and have never had this problem before. I would like for this to be resolved.

Race organizers did a good job informing runners of the course changes due to flooding but did a terrible job informing runners about the delay due to their decision to accommodate runners registered for the Glen Ellyn race that was cancelled.

This race should NOT have been delayed for 20 minutes to accommodate late participants. If that call needed to be made it should have been announced WELL before start time. I assume the organizers are well aware that runners plan their warm up, bathroom stop, stretching for a timed start and other planned events for later today. Unless it was weather related, this should not have happened. Any additional funds should go to discounts for people who registered early. Very disappointed.
