Whaletown Triathlon

The historic race is back!

Jon Jordan established this event in Anita, Iowa and built this event up to be one of the premier triathlons in the region and ran for 25 consecutive years. 

The event take place at Lake Anita State Park, the course consists of a 1,000 meter swim in Lake Anita, after transitioning a challenging 40K out and back bike heading south on County Road 148 will be completed. Returning back to Lake Anita State Park and to the transition area athletes will complete an epic 10k run meandering within the confines of Lake Anita State Park. 

As veterans of this race will recall the run is the highlight of this event. Anita Hill at about 2.5 miles will challenge the most conditioned runner and the legendary Whaletown Wall at around 5.5 miles will test your metal. Enjoy the Pre-Race Spaghetti feed Friday night in Anita and hometown style post race festivities. Join us in Anita, Iowa; a whale of a town for a whale of a race.
