Tanner Tough Walk/Run Race Description

On my son's first birthday (he is now 2) we had him sedated to get an MRI done because he wasn't hitting his milestones. Late that night as I was trying to rock my baby to sleep the Dr called. What felt like a stab in my heart he told me that my sweet baby Tanner had suffered from a stroke. Hearing that shocked me!! I never knew that babies and children can have strokes. I felt completely alone. But I wasn't. Doing research on this I learned that pediatric stroke is the top 10 causes of babies/children's death. I was mortified that nobody knew this. So I started an organization called Tanner Tough to bring awareness and raise funds that go to the World Pediatric Stroke Association. The WPSA helps bring awareness and raise money for research for Pediatric stroke.

I am very happy to say that Tanner finally took some independent steps about a month ago!!! He still gets 4 different types of therapy a week (PT, DT, OT, & SP). He still has a long road of him but I know he is strong and he will get through this!!
