Race Day
6:30-7:30am - Same-Day registration begins at the Beulah Gate
8:00am - 5k and Walk begin
8:50am - Awards Ceremony 8:30am-noon - Runners' Village Festivities
Awards
The 5K race awards ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. First, second, and third place State Fair ribbon rosettes will be given to the top male and female runners in each age category. The first place male and female winner in each age category will also receive a jar of salsa from the Pueblo Chamber. In addition, the overall male and overall female winners of the 5k will win a chile bushel from the Pueblo Chamber, and a KAYAK PACKAGE from L. L. Bean! All 5k participants will receive their race times. Walkers will not be given a time, but will receive a participation ribbon.
The Stampede 5k Race and 2 Mile Fun Walk strives to create an exciting, family friendly event during the homestretch of the Colorado State Fair. The Stampede is open to all and offers an exciting morning full of exercise and festivities.Participants can get their cardio in during the morning race and walk, and then relax in the Runners' Village at the Finish Line, enjoying goat yoga, beer, a water slide, massages, refreshments from Natural Grocers, and of course, mini donuts.
The Race course starts at the State Fairgrounds and moves through the historic surrounding Pueblo neighborhood. Walkers will enjoy the ease of traveling the perimeter of the grounds in the 2-mile walking course. Restrooms are available at the start/end of the race and a water station is available about half-way through the race. The entire event will take place on paved roads/sidewalks. Strollers are welcome for the Fun Walk. Pets are unfortunately prohibited from participation in the Stampede.
All participants will be greeted at the finish line by a Runners' Village with music by Rev .89, Budweiser beer, Studio Share Goat Yoga, Natural grocers refreshments, massages by the Intellitec College of Massage students, a slip-n-slide, and more! The Runners' Village will be open for Stampede participants' enjoyment from 9:00am - 12pm.
*Only individuals who have a race bib or a gate admission pass will be allowed into the Stampede and Runners Village areas. For those wishing to cheer on their friends in the Stampede: additional gate admission may be purchased on location at the Beulah Avenue Gate for a discounted price.*
Registration
Registration Prices for both the 5k and 2 mile Fun Walk:
$12.00: Children 6-13 or Track/XC Team, no T-shirt $20.00: Children 6-13 or Track/XC Team, with T-shirt $25.00: Adults ages 13-100 Free: Children 5 & under
At 7:00pm on August 31st, all registration prices will be raised to $35/person. Children 5 & under, however, are still free. All Stampede participants may register online at:
...or at the Colorado State Fair Box Office in the Southwest Motors Events Center (please note that with this option, a $5 administrative fee will be added to each registration).
Early entry (before 8/31 at 7:00pm) includes a race bib, a t-shirt, a swag bag, and admission to the Colorado State Fair. Please stick around after the race and enjoy all the fun that Colorado's State Fair has to offer!
5k Age Categories
8 & under 9-13 14-19 20-24 25-29 30-34 35-39 40-44 45-49 50-54 55-59 60-64 65-69 70 & over
There are NO age categories for walkers.
Packet Pickup
Packet pick-up will take place Friday August 31st, 2018 from 3:00pm-7:00pm at: The Gold Dust Saloon, 217 S Union Ave, Pueblo, CO 81003. Packets will include registration information, gate admission to be used on Race Day, and swag from Pueblo businesses and vendors.
Packets may also be picked-up on the morning of the race, Saturday September 1, 2018 from 6:30-7:30am at the State Fair Grounds Beulah Avenue Gate. Participants who pick up their packets at this time are not guaranteed a T-shirt or swag bag. All participants must pick up their packets before the start of the Race & Walk at 8:00am.
