I've been thinking about putting on a local virtual run & when you normally do one the money goes to benefit something/someone. While I thought long & hard about what I could do it for, a tragedy happened to not anyone that I personally know, but a fb friend of mine who I've seen hurt that she lost her nephew plus the rest of the family as I've seen on Facebook. My heart was led to do this & it's a way I know that I can help a family in need during this time.
This is a virtual 5k run on Saturday 7/30. What this means is you can do this run whatever time you want on July 30th. I will have my running group meet up at the Jay Wings track to do our run at 7am so most will be there to do it and thats where I will hand out medals & I think it would be a neat thing to have everyone else there too. The first 100 to register & pay will get medals, but you MUST finish the 5k. If you register, pay & don't run that day then the medals will be given to the next in line. If you can't make it to Jay Saturday morning then you must send your distance to me (mapmyrun) so I know you've finished it. ALL entry fee money goes directly to Isaiah's family for funeral costs, ect.
The Sapp family has experienced the absolute unthinkable today. Their son, Isaiah Sapp, was tragically taken from them way too soon. Just as he was starting his journey as a young adult, an accident took his life. With anything tragic like this comes the burden of funeral expenses and needing to take time off from jobs for healing. Let's come together, just as our little community always does, and try to help this family out by giving from our hearts as God leads us. God bless each and every family member and friend. ~â¤ï¸~
