Arkansas Marathon Race Description
Welcome to the 56th Annual Arkansas Marathon, Half-Marathon, Booneville 10K Run, & 5K Walk/Run.
The Arkansas Marathon is one of the oldest and most unique marathons in the South. The race is not crowded, parking is easy and the scenery is great. In fact, you may find yourself sharing the road with deer, turkey, squirrels and an odd rabbit or two. The road course places you with the view of Mt. Magazine, the tallest mountain in 11 states, and along the boundary between the Ozark National Forest and the Ouachita National Forest. Our route is unique as all 4 races are out and back. No riding a bus, no waiting in line, just a great day to run. We invite you to come enjoy a great run in a unique Marathon. We are looking forward to seeing you in South Logan County!
All races start at 7:00AM
During your run, Large FEATHER FLAGS will be on the route to let you know when to turn around. They all will have your race, and it will say, for example. “5K Turnaround”

Great first marathon
This was my first ever race of any distance. Marathon was a great experience if you want something smaller which I did. People were super friendly and made me feel welcome and ready to run! Route total elevation wasn't much but lots of hills so make sure you adequately train (I don't think I did!) On hills
My first marathon.
The overall marathon was fine. The course was tough, due to the several inclines and heat. The race support was great, although there should've been water stations at every mile, especially for the shorter races. It probably would've been better to have the county cops patrolling rather than the city police, which was limited at times. Overall it was a good experience
First Time Runner
It was a great experience! Things to make it better would be more information in the registration packet such as what time to be there on race day, where to put the pins, and a schedule of events (prayer, National Anthem, start). The website listed staggered race starts, but all races began at the same time, so maybe the same information online as in the packet.
49th State
This was my 49th State in running marathons. I enjoyed this race. The course was just right with the hills out and back. Not crazy about how close the trucks got however. Signage was great. Volunteers wonderful. Just enough aide stations. The beer was great at the finish. I also enjoyed visiting with the many churches and booths afterwards. Beautiful National Forest.
