REACH for Uganda partners with communities in rural Uganda to improve the quality of their daily lives and realize their future potential through improved education, healthcare, and community development. We help children in rural Uganda reach their full potential. We built a model school and two health clinics so that education and healthcare, local development, and community outreach could improve the quality of life and transform poor villages into self-sustaining communities.
Resources: REACH works with local community members to promote the growth of self-sustaining and vibrant communities. We seek opportunities to develop and reinvest the skills and expertise of REACH graduates, staff, and community members back into the local communities.
Environment: Creating sustainable agriculture programs, installing solar lighting, placing concrete floors in family homes, and ensuring clean water are all ways we help our community thrive.
Academics: Our goal is to serve as a model which lifts the standards of education and demonstrates student success at the primary, secondary, and post-secondary levels.
Community: REACH's ripple effect is felt through the community. We are a major employer and impact the local economy and entrepreneurial opportunities through our demand for construction services, school supples, food, transportation, and more.
Healthcare: We have two clinics to ensure that both the students and members of the community at large have access to reliable, high quality health services.
Our Impact: More than 800 students are currently supported by REACH. Over 700 students have attended Arlington Junior School since it opened. More than 75 students have graduated from certificate, diploma, and degree-granting institutions including 31 with Bachelor’s degrees. Overall, 51% of our students are female. We serve over 20,000 students in our Outreach Program through our partnerships with 26 government primary schools. In 2017, our clinics served 24,072 patients.

Happy
I think it is a great idea to give participants a couple weeks to get their run in on a day and time convenient to the runner. After looking at their website I am happy to support this charity. My wife and I will look into sponsoring. Thank you.

Great charity
I've ran the races this charity hosts for the past 4 years! It's a great organization doing awesome work in Uganda.
Glad they're back
I'm so happy the race is back! I ran their race in 2019 and I know COVID affected a lot of charities and events so nothing happening in 2020. REACH is local Arlington organization and I was able to travel to Uganda with them back in 2018. They used to be called Arlington Academy of Hope back then. Great people, great cause!!!
REACH Races
Just learned about this charity through my daughter's school. Great cause. We are happy to support them and look forward to participating in this family friendly activity.
Tradition
My children run in this race each year at Bluemont Park! We are happy they're back this year virtually to keep everyone safe. We hope to run in person with everyone next year! Good luck everyone. Have fun!
So fun!
Loved being able to run in my own neighborhood while still supporting REACH for Uganda's mission! Great idea!
