Point Breeze 5K Race Description

On Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 8AM – 12PM Sky Community Partners, Inc. is partnering with Councilman Kenyatta Johnson, Councilman Derek Green, State Representative Jordan Harris, Jefferson University and iHeartMedia- Philadelphia to host its 3rd Annual Point Breeze 5k Run/Walk & Health Fair.

The 5k Run/Walk will be held at Wharton Square Park, 2300 Wharton Street, and will begin promptly at 8AM. Simultaneously there will be a Health Fair to provide children and families with resources and information to increase their health awareness and improve their overall quality of life. The event is expected to draw over 300 individuals from across the Philadelphia Region.

The 5k Run/Walk will raise funds to promote and support pancreatic cancer awareness and early detection and to encourage healthy lifestyles, specifically in underserved communities. This year’s beneficiary is Thomas Jefferson University’s Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center who will use the funds to support pancreatic research and education in the Greater Philadelphia Region.
