Race for Ukrainians with Diabetes

My name is Litani Akauola. I am 10 years old and a type 1 diabetic. When hearing and seeing pictures of war in Ukraine I felt sad for those people. I do not feel they deserve this war. When seeing the children's hospital I thought of the children like me with diabetes. I want to help make this right for them. After seeing the hospital destroyed, I knew they must missing diabetic supplies.

My mission is to raise money for diabetics in Ukraine. I want to make this a worldwide mission. I can't do this alone. I am asking for your help in bringing peace to Ukrainians with diabetes. This is a hard disease to live with. While, most go into a restaurant thinking of what you want to eat, diabetics not only think about what to eat but also how much insulin they need to take with their meal. While most are able to go for a walking/running/biking without care, diabetics can walk/run/bike, but we have to keep track of our blood sugar and make sure we don't go too low or else we will faint. While most are able to enjoy sitting in a classroom, diabetics could be out of class and in the office because we are too low or too high and we miss being in the classroom. That has happened to me a lot this year. Doctor appointments are constant. Taking medicine is constant because it is what I need to survive. That is what Ukraine needs. I can't do this alone.
