Pedal to Honor Veterans Bicycle Tour

Please join the Greater Dallas Veterans Foundation in our inaugural "Pedal to Honor Veterans Bicycle Tour" commemorating Memorial Day 2021.  Your health is central on our minds.  Due to the pandemic, this will be a self-directed ride (virtual), honoring our veterans' service and sacrifice to our nation.  Riders are encouraged to ride between May 15 and May 29, 2021.

Whether by bicycle, unicycle, skateboard, stationary bike or other self-powered rolling means, joins us in one of four suggested distances: 

1. Century Ride of 62-miles (100 kilometers);
2. 25-mile Ride ( 40 kilometers);
3. 15-mile Ride (24 kilometers); and
4.   5-mile Ride (8 kilometers). 

Registrations:  Event participants will receive a print at home event bib, a biography of an area service member who died participating in Operation Enduring Freedom (U.S. military response to the 9-11 attack on our nation), and links to bicycle route options.  These items will be emailed to participants ahead of Memorial Weekend.  To register, simply click the blue registration button on this page.

Proceeds from this event support connecting the Greater Dallas community to veterans and veteran ideals through events such as Summer Vet Expo, and the Greater Dallas Veterans Day parade, occurring on Thursday, November 11, 2021.  In 2021, we are commemorating Operation Enduring Freedom. 

Event Shirts (pictured above) can be purchased separately.  The 3.5 ounce performance shirt is 100% polyester, moisture-wicking, and offers 40+ UV protection.  Shirt will be mailed during the second week in June.  Click the "Race Store" button to purchase a shirt.  The back of the shirts will list the names and home town for the 186 Texas service members who paid the ultimate price in their participating in Operation Enduring Freedom.  (Note:  The cutoff for ordering a shirt has passed)
