Inaugural Jim Thorpe Half Marathon and 5k Race Description

Date: Sunday April 29th, 2018. Registration opens at 6:30am IF NOT SOLD OUT. Half Marathon Starts at 8am, 5k fun run starts at 8:15am. FREE children's run for Ages 9+ starting at 8:20 AM!! Proceeds: Proceeds will benefit the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley www.pcflv.org PRE RACE & BIB PICKUP: Saturday April 28th BIB pick up will be at the historic Inn at Jim Thorpe lcoated at 24 Broadway Jim Thorpe PA 18229 from 1PM-9PM!! (You may also register if not SOLD OUT) There will be a Pasta Party the night before as well that will take place Starting @4PM and running till 9PM in the Broadway Grille located in the downstairs section of the Inn. We will also have dj entertainment as well!! POST RACE PARTY: Awards for both the half marathon and 5k will take place @the Inn Starting at 12:30 PM There will also be a party that evening starting at 8PM and running till 12AM!! (DJ w/giveaways) LODGING: You can find rooms, dinning, massages and more on a first come basis through our sponsor the INN at Jim Thorpe. Please visit their webage, http://innjt.com/ or call 1-800-329-2599 Location: Glen Onoko access area of Lehigh Gorge State Park, Latitude Longitude 40.88357º, -75.76035º Course: Out and back course on the Lehigh Gorge Trail, Flat and fast!! (YOU will NOT find a more scenic place to race!!) The race starts and ends at Glen Onoko access area of Lehigh Gorge State Park. Water and Gatorade will be provided at every mile, starting at the 2nd mile, and gels are provided at the turnaround. Course is wheel-measured and certified. FEES: Half marathon- Early Bird, before 2/1/2018 is $50, from 2/1/2018 to day of race is $60 5k Run before 2/1/2018 is $25, from 2/1/2018 to the evening before the race is $30, Day of is $35 Awards: There are age group awards in each division for both male and female runners, as well as the top three male and female overall will receive unique prizes in both Open and Masters (40+) categories Age Groups: 13-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-98 T-Shirts: Short sleeve tech shirt in men’s and women’s sizing Finisher's Medal: A unique Medal symbolic w/Jim Thorpe will be given to all participants in the half marathon!! Finish Line: There will be a live dj/entertainer at the start/finish area during the race running contests with giveaways Coaching: Do you need a little extra help and motivation?
