Need an Answer

My name is Debbie Sanks I did the race Saturday and would like to know why they gave me second place when everyone said I had first. The lady they called won first no one seemed to know and she never went up for a trophy. I was told by several people I was the fastest walker and I came through first everyone before me were running. I trained very hard for this and would like to know the truth. Please contact me xxx-xxx-xxxx. I also had two friends that came and watched the whole race and said no one came through that line walking first except me.

POUR RACE MANAGEMENT THIS YEAR

I have participated in this race 15+ times. As races go, this one gives you a lot for what you pay for over most others, it's fun and organized. But this time it was different. The walkers did not have a 2 minute delay or different colored bibs which made those that don't understand "NO RUNNING" difficult to spot. A friend of mine (82 yo male) is listed on the results page as 1st o'all walker @ a break-neck speed of 3.11 min pace. Actually, he came in just over an hour. In fact, the finish line was being broke down as he approached. Can you imagine how he felt? That his time and effort was not worth waiting a couple more minutes for!!! If that wasn't bad enough, there were no walker awards as promised. There were plenty of awards for the runners!!!! Why is our registration money not as good as the runners? Another male walker is listed as 66th when he came in 10 o'all walker. After the awards, I approached the women who seemed to be the race director and voiced my thoughts about the walker awards. She replied that she would "make it right". Here we are 3 months later - nothing. I have participated in my last Foley Oyster Run.
