Door County Century Bike Ride Race Description

The 45th Door County Century - Sunday, September 8, 2024

RIDE DETAILS

The Door County Century... We call it The Big Ride because it truly is! 3,000 riders strong, the DCC is the original Door County century distance event and one of the largest single-day cycling events in the United States. It's been imitated, but never duplicated.

The Door County Century is the true classic Fall ride, purpose-built for riders of all abilities and riding styles.  It is intended that all participants ride at their own pace, staying safe and in touch with their surroundings.  You may choose to ride any of our four course lengths:  30, 50, 70 or 100 mile courses with your paid registration.  Because we want you to be happy and in control of your day in the saddle, choose your route anytime, even after you're already out on the road! Register early and save - See Fee Schedule

Because of the extremely large rider roster, the DCC experience does not favor a large, designated mass start. Instead, riders planning on a longer journey need to plan to depart as early as 6:00 am (sunrise), with short-course riders departing no later than 10:00 am on the day of the ride, depending on their anticipated pace and planned distance. In order to ensue that participants reach rest stops during operating hours, please plan you day wisely.  Slower riders and those planning to ride longer course routes with multiple stops should depart earlier in the day.

Routes will be marked with both color-coded pavement arrows and also red & white DCC wayfinding signs. Support vehicles, including our DCC Mobile Tech Crew and the DCC Sag Crew pickup trucks will be available to assist riders all day long. Rest stops offering food, beveragesand technical support are strategically spaced throughout each route. After the ride, enjoy a catered post-ride dinner, which includes New Belgium beer and other beverages, all to the beat of live music on the DCC "Big Blue" stage.

Each rider receives a free dinner and two adult beverages with their ride registration. Your friends and family are welcomed to meet up with you after your ride, and they can also purchase picnic tickets and beverages without riding.

On ride day, rising star Jackson Mankowski of Los Angeles, CA will be the opening and closing act in support of Wisconsin supergroup Conscious Pilot, with a full-set performance from noon until 4:00pm.  Our outdoor stage and Nicolet National Bank Fun Zone will be rockin' all day long!

We couldn't be more excited to host you!

The DCC is simply amazing. I raced last year for the first time and truly had the time of my life. It was organized and well run. I made the decision to make this run every year because I had such an awesome time. This race was a class act! I look forward to racing in September 2019. Fellow bikers...please come out and join me and my friends... You won't regret it!
