Castaic Lake Triathlon Series I Race Description
Swim: 400 meters Lake Swim – Lower Castaic Lake beach at Paradise Cove. The swim is the in scenic southern part of the lake right next to our new staging area. Athletes swim about 400 meters in an arc, coming out of the water about 50 meters from where you begin. Then you will run less than 100 yards on the beach to the staging area, which is in the parking lot of Paradise Cove. The average temperature of
the lake is 65 degrees F.

Bike 10 miles - Secure transition area with traffic control by L.A. County Sheriffs.
Note: part of the bike route circles the prison and is unavailable for practice rides.
 The entire route is paved and there is a
Modest climb of several hundred feet about midway through the ride.
Run: 3 Miles – mostly flat and fast on the park paths.
