Canine Classic

Due to COVID-19 social distancing and Colorado's stay-at-home orders, MESA will be hosting the 18th annual Canine Classic as a virtual event. You can complete your 5K on your own any time between May 23 - 30. A canine companion is not required but highly encouraged. Submitting a time for your 5K distance is optional. 

With many of us working from home, COVID-19 has been a field day for dogs. This spring’s Canine Classic gives you and your pet an opportunity to put all your daily quarantine training toward a good cause. All proceeds from the Canine Classic support MESA’s programs, including a 24-hour hotline, victim advocate services, and prevention education. For a $20 registration fee, you can support MESA’s programming, enjoy a run with your dog, and have a chance to win great prizes. 

Even though we can’t be together to run and celebrate with our dogs at the Boulder Rez, we hope you’ll help us continue the light-hearted tradition of the Canine Classic. Pick your favorite 5K route, grab a leash, and be sure to document your run using #CanineClassic2020. 

All participants will be eligible to win prizes. Prize categories include the fastest person with and without a dog, best dog and guardian selfie, oldest dog photo, best dog-guardian lookalike photo, best dog trick video, and random prize drawings.
