The inaugural Boots and Brews 5k celebrates the past and future of Freeport—a gem of Maine’s coast!
From its shoemaking past (in addition to L. L. Bean, Freeport was once home to over 30 shoe and boot factories!) to its current status as a craft beer destination, Freeport has so many stories to tell.
Join us for a 5k downtown, stick around to sample brews from across town (featuring Brickyard Hollow, Gritty McDuff’s, Maine Beer Company, and Mast Landing Brewing), and get outdoors in Freeport, Maine!

Traffic Poorly Managed
The course and race itself was good yet slightly challenging with a few hills. The rough part was that there was very little traffic control. Cars right behind runners, blocking runners at the finish line, dangerously passing, there should have been blockades, more volunteers, anything to keep runners more safe.
