Altius Handcrafted Firearms/WYSEF Biathlon Race

$25.00 per skier from Thursday, November 21 through
12:00 Noon on Tuesday, November 26
Online registration only. No paper registrations.
All times are MST!
 
Registration closes on Tuesday, November 26 at 12:00 Noon
for all biathlon races.
 
 
 
 
Sprint Race
 
Format:
This event will be organized following standard IBU & USBA rules for the Sprint Race. The Start will be individual at 30 sec intervals.
 
 
Category is based on age as of December 31, 2019!
 
Categories/Distance/Shooting:
U15 M/W*  4.5km  Prone-Prone
U17 M/W* Youth Women  6km  Prone-Standing
Youth Men, Junior Women, Women, Masters M/W  7.5km  Prone-Standing
Junior Men, Men 10km  Prone-Standing
 
*U15 & U17 Categories use 'Rack to Rack' procedure in the range.
 
Awards Schedule: Awards to the top 3 finishers in all categories. All awards will be handed out at the Awards Ceremony at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the Biathlon Range following the completion of the race.
 
 
Novice Race
 
This event is open to all interested skiers. No previous biathlon or shooting experience is necessary.
 
All new biathletes are required to participate in the "Try Biathlon" clinic at the range on Tuesday Nov. 26 from 10:30 am to noon, or have had completed the clinic in 2018.
 
Novice Race is also for any experienced biathletes with their own rifles, but who do not plan to carry their rifles.
 
Trail Passes:
ALL users, including skiers and coaches, MUST have a trail pass. Anyone who plans to use skis must have a pass. Tail passes help with grooming expenses for the month of November.
 
Category is based on age as of December 31, 2019!
 
Categories/Distance/Shooting:  4.5km for all categories. All Novice categories shoot Prone-Prone, rifle rest permitted.  Due to new developed trails, map will be posted at stadium area.

Awards Schedule: Awards to the top 3 Men and Women in the following age groups.
 
Biathlon participants must have a trail pass and ski equipment to participate.  All trail passes are non-refundable. All skiers should meet at the Biathlon Range (1.5k from trail head area, accessible by skiing only) 30 minutes prior to race start in order to check in.  Spectators are welcome to ski out (with a trail pass) or walk along the South Plateau Rd (without ski equipment).  There are no shuttles available.  Participants should wear proper attire for standing outside in winter weather.
