The Fab 4 Race Description

Start your 2019 off FABULOUS!

Nothing will help keep the glow of the holidays ongoing like running the trails.  The Fab 4 Trail running series will keep your cheeks rosy and keep the sparkle of the season in your eyes!

(Or you cheeks will be glowing due to the windchill and you will sparkle due to sweat.  We get easily confused)

The FAB 4 Trail Running Series includes.:

im Schnee festsitzen ~ Sunday, January 19th, 2019  Bristol Woods Bristol, WI

2 hr Choose Your Own Trail Adventure 3.5-mile CaniCross

10:15 a.m. start CaniCross  10:30 run/walk

Bristol Woods is the perfect host for the 4thAnnual im Schnee festsitzenTrail Run.  This beautiful park and trails take you through upland forest, wetlands, oak savanna remnants, and prairie areas. This event is the first of two XCThrillogy’s Choose Your Own Trail Adventure. Choose Your Own Trail Adventure allows the participant to decide their distance for the event based on fitness, goals, and Mother Nature (and we ALL know how unkind she can be).  After you are done, enjoy beef stew, soup, hot chocolate, and Schnapps as you enjoy the company of your fellow trail enthusiasts.  Please BYO beverage or dessert to share!  Surprise swag, fun awards, and great company make the ending of your im Schnee festsitzen Choose Your Own Trail Adventure memorably.

Kenosha Running Company will donate part of the proceeds of this event to the Pringle Nature Center to help them continue environmental education to the community at large.

Boreas Trail Adventure ~ Sunday, February 17th, 2019  Bristol Woods Bristol, WI

2 hr Choose Your Own Trail Adventure 3.5-mile CaniCross

10:15 a.m. start CaniCross  10:30 run/walk

Boreas, the Greek God of the North Wind and bringer of Cold Weather, can be a trickster and no one knows this better than those who run! The challenging but fun trails of Bristol Woods are ideal to let Boreas know that he cannot stop you!  This 3-mile looped course will consist of single track trails and wide groomed paths that lead you on an adventure through this 197-acre park!   The Choose Your Own Trail Adventure event allows the participant to decide their distance for the event based on fitness, goals, and Boreas.  After you are done, enjoy warm food and warmer company around a bonfire. Please BYO beverage or dessert to share!  Entertaining trail stories and some surprises will make this Choose Your Own Trail Adventure one that you will not forget! This event is perfect for all fitness levels and is dog-friendly for those not interested in participating in the CaniCross Event.

Kenosha Running Company will donate part of the proceeds of this event to the Pringle Nature Center to help them continue environmental education to the community at large.

Dirty Dog Dare and Meraki Trail Adventure ~ Sunday,  April 7th, 2019  Richard Bong State Recreation Area,  Kansasville, WI

10:00 a.m. start CaniCross  10:15 run/walk

Meraki is a Greek word which means “to do something with passion, with absolute devotion, with undivided attention”. There are many answers to why our participants participate in our events, but they all can agree on the fact, when they are running/walking the trails, they are doing so with passion, devotion, and undivided attention.

The Meraki Trail Run is 4.5, 9.0, or 13.5 miles of immersion in the experience of trail running in the spring. Bullfrogs and songbirds will be your soundtrack.  Muskrats, deer, forest, and wildflowers will be your backdrop. The new spring grass will give you the bounce in your step to complete your chosen distance (or perhaps more)!

Dirty Dog Dare is the CaniCross companion event to the Meraki Trail Run and is the final event of the 2018-19 CaniCross season. CaniCross athletes will have a choice of 3.5 or 7.0-mile events as a final test of their trail fitness.
