The Blind K Blindfold Run/Walk
The Blind K Blindfold Run/Walk Race Description
Experience a glimpse of life with low or no vision.
Grab a partner and complete a 5K together—one of you blindfolded. You can stay blindfolded the whole time or switch halfway through.
This challenge highlights the trust required when vision is limited—just like the trust an international surgical team needs. Surgeons, scrub techs, circulators, screeners, and donors all rely on each other to restore sight. During this event, you’ll discover what it’s like to place your full trust in someone else.
Why $35?
That’s the average cost of a sight-restoring cataract surgery in many countries where Vision Outreach International (VOI) serves. While cataract surgery in the U.S. can cost $2,000–$5,000, VOI keeps costs low by working with skilled volunteers, using donated supplies, and maintaining much of our own equipment.
Prizes & Impact
Complete your run/walk and report your results to be entered into a prize drawing within two weeks of the event.
Your registration fee—and any extra donations—go directly toward restoring sight for people in need around the world. Since 2001, VOI has traveled internationally to perform cataract surgeries, restoring vision, dignity, and independence to thousands.
If you can’t participate but want to help, you can still make a difference with a donation.
