The Blind K Run/Walk

"THE BLIND K" RUN / WALK is not your typical ATHLETIC event. We introduce several elements of the "UNKNOWN" 

When you sign up for THE BLIND K RUN, you may be selected to run a 5K (3.1 miles), 6K (3.7 miles) or 7K (4.3 miles). If running isn't for you -you can register for THE BLINKD K WALK which could be a 1 mile, 2 miles, or 3 miles.  There is only one problem!  You don't know until event day which distance you will do. You are randomly selected to run/walk one of the distances, but that information is kept hidden until event day.

Why $35 dollars?
Thirty-five dollars is the AVERAGE PRICE for a sight-restoring cataract surgery. Though prices may vary from country to country, $35.00 is what it costs us to do a typical surgery. Cataract surgeries in the USA can cost $2000 - $5000 based on the type of surgery and lens implant you select.

However, we work hard to find qualified volunteers, donated supplies, and individuals willing to pay their own expenses. We raise funds for the needed surgical equipment and strive to be good stewards of these resources by doing a lot of our own maintenance, thus keeping our surgical cost to a minimum. 

Everyone who completes their assigned RUN / WALK and reports their results will be registered to receive one of our valuable prizes, but that information is also hidden until after the event. 

Your registration fee, as well as any additional donations, will be used by Vision Outreach International (VOI) to give sight to the poor all over the world.

VOI restores sight to the blind all around the world even if individuals can't afford it.  Since 2001 they have been traveling abroad doing cataract surgery on the poor and restoring individual value and dignity.
