RACE DETAILS

Spending $100 to run 13.1 miles on public roads sometimes can seem overwhelming!  We're bringing the community together, in all their tie dye glory, to host + run a 5K, 10K, for $5 ($15 for late register).  Everyone deserves the opportunity to be involved in an activity that can help you become a healthier person. The race is located in Sunnydell and Archer, Idaho, which is where the name of the race originated!

All the races will take place on a basically flat scenic country roads, surrounded by tons of green farms.  The half marathon will pass over a Heise bridge - overlooking the snake river. It will also pass train tracks, with the only incline passing a neat rock quarry.  The 10K will run through the peaceful Sutton cemetery.  All distances are point to point races and end at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

See the map for exact locations, parking, bathrooms, water stations and the elevation profile.

Bathroom locations are marked on the map course.  There will NOT be a bathroom at the beginning of the races.  There will be a bathroom at the finish.  Many of the bathroom stops are located at a community members home (they will be anticipating your arrival, and you simply just knock if they aren't already outside.

The 5K + 10K are stroller friendly, and the 1/2 marathon is not.

Please no dogs.

START + END TIMES

 5K: 8:30a

Check in + bib pick up: 8:00a

10K: 7:30a

Check in + bib pick up: 7:00a

1/2 Marathon: 7:00a

Check in + bib pick up: 6:30a

The race will conclude at 10:30a, which will allow for all 13 miles to be walked at an 18min 30sec pace and still arrive with plenty of time.  Everyone is invited and included, even walkers!

PARKING

Please arrange parking at the finish line and getting dropped off or carpooling with your friends, this will remove the hassle of having to get back to your car at the finish of the race. Otherwise, make plans to pick up your car from the start. We will have a single truck that can do minimal loads to the start line, but please arrange your own plans as we might not be able to shuffle everyone. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints finish line has significantly more parking than the start lines.

5K + 10K:  Parking will be on the side of the road, of the race start.  You will be directed by a volunteer where to park, please look for people arranging the parking to ensure that we are maximizing space.

1/2 Marathon:  Parking will be in the dirt "lot," prior to the Heise bridge. Please be organized with your parking, and follow the volunteer directing cars

CHECK IN + BIB PICK UP

There are two times that you can pick up your race bibs.  August 31 at the (optional) tie dye tee shirt day at 1pm or the 30min window before your race time.  Please indicate when you register which time you will be picking it up, but don't worry if your plans change, it's simply for loose planning purposes.

RACE TIMES

Though we will not have race chips to document the finish times, to keep our costs low, we will be timing and post the results to this website after the race. You are definitely encouraged to bring a personal running GPS.

 REFUND POLICY

We will not be accepting refunds for cancellation, but please notify us via email @ sunnyarchrace@gmail.com so your bib # can be redistributed.

 SAFETY

Safety is our number one concern, and needs to be yours.  There are a few narrow passes that will have signage from the County Sheriff that will indicate there is a runners, but be mindful of where your body is in relation to cars. Never assume they can see you.  Look for trains when passing over tracks. Take out headphones when there are tight passes.  Your safety is first priority, and your job -- be aware of your surroundings.
