Splash Bash 5K Fun Run to Benefit the Dundee Volunteer Fire Department

Splash Universe is proud to present, with its sponsors, the First Annual Splash Bash 5K Fun Run and Walk on October 11th, 2015.

Splash Bash 5K Fun Run and Walk will engage, encourage and educate families and youth to cultivate healthy and safe lifestyles. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with youth organizations, local businesses and services promoting activities and products which inspire healthy, safe choices and activities and highlight resources in our community.
Event proceeds will be donated to the benefit of the Dundee Volunteer Fire Department.

In 2014, the DVFD, comprised of 30 volunteer firemen, responded to over 700 calls within our community. The DVFD actively promotes fire education, participates in community events and conducts Safety Week Programs. Following a successful levy in May of 2012 the Department broke ground, in July of 2013, on a new Fire Hall to replace an over 100 year old facility. Driven by new development and growth, the Department had experienced an increase of first responder activities over 19% in just 5 years. The new Fire Hall was dedicated on May 4, 2014. The department is working to fulfill desired resources, continuation of advanced training for the safety of the firemen and community, updated safety equipment, and ongoing community outreach.

All proceeds will directly contribute in aiding the Dundee Volunteer Fire Department achieve its goals, and help to encourage youth and families to develop healthy practices; setting a foundation for healthy future generations.
