Rest Race in Maryland

If you haven't run this race you are missing out on one of the true gems of the spring season. The course is hilly, and the weather usually just OK - although it was lovely in 2019. It's the folks behind this race that make it special. This race is well organized, offers great swag and draws a great crowd of spectators and volunteers. The 2020 race boasts an improved course, a stadium finish and the FSOF's legendary afternoon and evening of celebration. Heck, you can probably throw the morning in there as well. As the great scholar Teddy Stoddard once said "if you're going to drink all day, you must start in the morning. " I'm not sure if Teddy can walk to FSU in time for the start, but if he does he will be welcomed with open arms and some meat. Looking forward to seeing everyone in April for the next installment of my favorite race.

2017 Race Review

Best Race In Western Maryland - Hands Down

Each time I run this race I am amazed of 2 things, the weather is beautiful (in both 2016 and 2017 it was in the mid 70's) and this is a flat fast course. Given how hilly Frostburg is, I don't know how the race director does it? It is a great race for us "middle of the packers"; although the elite field is impressive. Finally, the volunteers are first rate. It's a friendly race and the after party is one of the best. JK it's hilly as hell and the weather blows. But it's a lot of fun.
