Run the River 5K Race Description

Get ready to lace up those running shoes for this year's Run the River 5K! All proceeds will benefit the John 3:16 Center and it's educational programs including the Wired for Success After School Program and the popular Camp J3:16. These programs are currently offered at no cost to the parent and with your help, we can keep these essential programs free.

The John 3:16 Center is based in Littleton, North Carolina and is striving to eradicate generational poverty, child abuse and neglect. The Center offers programs that work to move individuals from dependency to empowerment. Every day the center offers hope to those who feel hopeless.

Programs offered by the John 3:16 Center include:

  • Emergency Food Pantry
  • Positive Parenting Program
  • Weekly Bible Studies
  • Wired for Success After School Program
  • Free Summer Camp- Camp J3:16
  • Christmas Outreach
  • Job Skills Classes

Through working with the whole family, the John 3:16 Center is able to eliminate many of the stressful situations that often can lead to child neglect or abuse. April is Child Abuse Prevention month and we hope you will join us on April 8 as we all take steps together to end child abuse and neglect in the state of North Carolina. The Run the River 5K will kick off at 8:00 am at the Lake Day Use Park and travel along the Roanoke Canal Trail.
