This is an out-and-back trail 5k that begins and ends at Stagecoach State Park at the Morrison Cove Boat Launch entrance.
Open to all runners/walkers whom can complete the 3.10 distance in 90 minutes or less (~25 minutes per mile pace). All participants will receive a bib and finishers will receive a unique wooden medal commemorating the event.
Event will begin at 10AM.
THIS WILL BE A CUPLESS EVENT. We will have water jugs available to fill up your water-bottles or camelbacks (should you need one).
Bib pick-up can begin at 7:30am the day of the event near the start/finish line. Online registration ends on May 11th at 10AM. You may also register the morning of the event by 9AM at the latest.
You will need to either have a Colorado State Parks Pass or please have $7.00 available to purchase a day pass to park at the State Park. We are so gracious that they are allowing us to utilize this beautiful park and hope participants stay after the race to enjoy the scenery, rent a boat or kayak, fish, or hike on the other trails around the lake!
All proceeds from this 5k (and virtual) will go towards MS Run The US- an across-America relay that begins every April and finishes in mid-August. MS Run The US is a non-profit organization that raises awareness of MS, contributes to research, and also helps those families in need who are currently affected by MS. Segment #7 runner, race director Stacy McAllister, will be running from Steamboat Springs,CO to Denver, CO on May 22-28th and has a fundraising goal of $10,000 for MS Run The US (all proceeds from this 5k will be going to her MS Run The US fundraiser)! Her grandfather, Bernard, passed away from secondary complications of Multiple Sclerosis in August 2017 and she continues to remain active for those less fortunate than herself.
Not able to make it to Colorado? We will also be offering a virtual option! All participants will receive a bib and wooden medals will be mailed to you once the event has been completed. All you need to do is complete the 3.15 mile run/walk sometime during the day of May 12th and make sure to wear your bib! Don't forget to share photos with us on our Facebook & Instagram pages- we want to raise as much awareness of the disease as possible!
