Rock Out Cancer Rockin' 5K, 12 Aug Race Description
August 12th, 2023
The 9th annual Rock Out Cancer – Rockin 5K Run/Walk benefiting the OU Stephenson Cancer Center. This event combines exercise with a "rockin" good time! All participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite rockstar! Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the 5K and best costume. ROCK ON!
After the race, come on over to The Landing Zone where the Festivities continue! 8 Bands! Silent auction, fantastic food, fun, and music!
All donations and proceeds support the OU Stephenson Cancer Center, The Stephenson Cancer Center is home to investigators working in the areas of basic, translational, clinical, behavioral, and population-based cancer research.. Thank you for being part of the solution!

Timeline:
7:30 AM-8:30 AM: Participant Check-In
8:45AM: Opening Ceremony
9:00AM: Runners Begin
Parking and Check In: Parking and Check-in at the Landing Zone parking lot.
8720 SE 15th St, Midwest City, OK 73110
The race will start near the south side entrance of Regional Park at SE 15th St and Century Blvd.
What to Wear: All participants are encouraged to dress like their favorite rockstar! Please make sure all costumes are family friendly. Don't forget to wear athletic shoes - even rockstars need to be comfortable.
What to Bring: ID and/or confirmation email (electronic version accepted)
T-Shirts: All participants will receive an event T- Shirt.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the 5K and best costume!

The OKC race was wonderful and well done but you can increase runner participation in your Mid West City race if you advertise through the Landrunner's club by participating in the Landrunner's Race Series. I am writing on behalf of the Oklahoma Landrunner's running club to inquire about your Rock Out Games on 8/12/23. OKC based Landrunners Running Club does a "race series" each year, in which participating runners receive a point in the series for each "Series Race" they run during the year. The races that participate receive wide spread publicity for their race on the Landrunners' website and its social media reach, promoting the race. We ask each participating race to complete a short application that can be found on the Landrunner's website and provide a $50 donation to be listed as a participating race in the 2023 race series. If you are interested in having your race included in the Series, the application and information is located on the website at http://www.okcrunning.org. In have participated in this event twice and love it! This is a wonderful family 5k. The park trails are nice and scenic; it is a nice run or walk.
Easy course, but nice and shaded most of the way. People playing guitar and singing on the route and some crazy cool costumes. I'm in it to win it this year! Not the run, the costume contest.
Me and my husband have helped with this event In the past. Helped in volunteering where needed. We both have had a loved one pass becuase of cancer. If you feel led...Get Involved.
All the volunteers were extremely nice the band kept spirits up and legs moving. Great event and will do it again!!!
We always look forward to this event.... such a professional organization and for an awesome cause!!! Thank you for all your efforts to make the Rock Out Cancer weekend so amazing!!
