Join us for the most vibrant and inclusive event of the year - the Rainbow Run 5k Fun Run Fundraiser, benefiting the Prism Center, a 2SLGBTQ+ community center dedicated to fostering support, education, and community empowerment!

The Rainbow Run isn't just a race; it's a celebration of love, diversity, and unity. Lace-up your running shoes to run, walk, dance, prance, or roll at your own pace! Prepare to be dazzled as we paint the town with every color of the rainbow!

Rainbow Run 2024 Information

Registration Packet Pick-Up Info:

You can pick up your registration packets at the Prism Community Center on:

• Wednesday from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM
• Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM

The Prism Community Center is located at:
500 N Western Ave, Suite 300
Sioux Falls, SD 57104

In addition to packet pickup, we will also be hosting Tie-Dye Nights at the center during these times. Wednesday's session is for youth, and Friday's session is for adults. Feel free to stay after you pick up your packet to tie-dye your event shirt!

Event Timeline:

• 8:30 AM: Registration opens. Participants can visit the booths.
• 9:45 AM: 15-minute countdown/warm-up begins (Sponsored by Crossfit Kota).
• 10:00 AM: Walk/run begins and will follow the marked path.
• 10:30 AM - 11:15 AM: Cool down sessions as people come in. Groups of 10-15 people until everyone has cooled down (Sponsored by Crossfit Kota).
• 11:30 AM: Speech by Kameron Nelson.
• 11:45 AM: Costume Contest Winners announced. (Judged by Youth Advisory Board, Prizes by The Breaks and Dada Lounge.)
  • Rainbow Royalty Award: For the most vibrant and creative use of rainbow colors in a costume.
  • Rainbow Runner-Up Award: For outstanding effort and participation in the costume contest.
  • Pride Pioneer Award: For the participant who showcases the most original and innovative pride-themed costume.
  • Ally Appreciation Award: For allies who demonstrate strong support!
  • Best Group Ensemble: For groups of participants who coordinate their costumes!
• 12:00 PM: Final chance to check out booths/vendors.
• 12:30 PM: Rainbow Run concludes. All activities will close.

Severe Weather Plan:
We are taking several precautions to monitor the weather for our Rainbow Run event:

• Pre-event Monitoring: We will check the National Weather Service website (www.weather.gov) for several days leading up to the event and the morning of the event.
• On-site Monitoring: We will have a radio or phone to check weather forecasts during the event.
  Volunteers: Volunteers will be stationed throughout the route to monitor and notify participants of any severe weather.
• Notification: In the event of severe weather during the run, we will immediately notify participants and advise them to seek shelter. Volunteers will be contacted via cell phone to assist in notifying participants.
• Cancellation/Postponement: If we need to cancel or postpone the event prior to its start, we will notify participants, vendors, and volunteers as early as possible.

Parking Information:
Please refer to the attached map for designated vendor parking areas. Ensure that you park in the areas specified to avoid any congestion and to ensure smooth operations.

Route Map:
Refer to the attached map for the walk/run route. The path will be clearly marked with signs and volunteers will be stationed along the route to assist and guide you.
