The Sweet Sweat 5K Color Run/walk Race Description
The Gamma Iota Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated will host its third annual 'Sweet Sweat 5k Run/Walk on Sunday, November 18, 2018. Our chapter’s primary goal is to help educate and take action in the fight against diabetes. By adding "color powder" to our run, we will stage a fun filled event on Hampton University's campus that encourages and celebrates fitness, family and friends united for one cause. A one time donation will be given to The American Diabetes Association.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Early Registration (11/6 - 11/9)
Student Admission (MUST bring Student ID day of race)
Individual Participation: $15.00 per person
Team Participation $10.00 per person (MUST BE TEAM OF 5)
General (Non-Student) Admission
Individual participation: $20.00 per person
Team Participation : $15.00 per person (MUST BE TEAM OF 5)
Standard Registration (11/10 - 11/17)
Student Admission (MUST bring Student ID day of race)
Individual participation: $20.00 per person
Team Participation $15.00 per person (MUST BE TEAM OF 5)
General (Non-Student) Admission
Individual participation: $25.00 per person
Team Participation : $20.00 per person (MUST BE TEAM OF 5)
*Team captains are responsible for collecting ALL funds from each member for registration.*
*Each participant MUST sign a waiver before participating in the race*

I’ve always wanted to do a color run and this did not fall short of my expectations! I had so much fun and I was happy that my first color run went toward a cause that affects many members of my family as well as a close friend of mine. It was also a huge inspiration for me to start getting up and going to the gym!

It was really fun! It was a good run for a really great cause and it was so pretty running on the waterfront that it made easy to forget how out of shape I was.
As a type 1 Diabetic, I really appreciated seeing a event for Diabetes on Hampton University’s Campus. The team aspect I would like to see a little more of, as it didn’t seem necessary to create teams as teams split up to complete the course. I’m not sure what to have expected with the teams, however I thought there was a greater purpose for the teams. Whether it be recognition for the first couple of teams and individuals to complete the course. Or if the teams raised money.
This race was so fun. I was able to walk/run with my friends for a meaningful cause and experience my first color run! It was awesome.
