Mad Dash Tampa Bay, Saturday, April 22nd, 2017. 8:00am, Weedon Island Preserve, St Petersburg Florida.
The 2017 Tampa Bay Mad Dash for Music Education is a combinations street and trail run in Pinellas County, Florida.
The Start and Finish are at the Weedon Island Cultural Center on Weedon Drive in St Petersburg, Florida. The course runs through the Cultural Center parking lot to Weedon Drive, east to the Fishing Pier, then doubles back west along Weedon Drive to the second trail entry. Water Station #1 is at the point where the road ends, and the trail experience begins.
For the next 2.1 miles Participants run under the Canopy on the trails at Weedon Island. The course path is varied, from sand trails to a dirt path (and yes, maybe some mud). There are twists and turns in the path, bridges to cross and an abundance of wildlife to experience, including the protected Gopher Tortoise.
Water Station #2 is located 2.5 miles into the course at the Picnic Area where the dirt trail meets the paved walking path of the Park. The paved path takes Participants the final half mile back to the Cultural Center and the finish line.
Finishers receive the commemorative Mad Dash Dog Tag w/chain, water, fruit and the satisfaction of knowing they have supported Music Education on a local and national level.
