Race for The Planet Description

TAMUK students!Help Javelina Students for Sustainability (JSS) to promote environmentally friendly transportation, your health and the health of the planet by riding your bike! 

Free to current TAMUK students!  

Donations gratefully Accepted

Bike Fun Race around TAMUK campus (4 laps, ~13 miles).

Pledge to ride your bicycle rather than drive.

Family friendly event: kids 12 & under ride for free! 

Prizes!  Raffle for new 'Fixie' bicycle from Kingsville Bike Depot

plus prizes for 1st and 2nd place finishers in each category. Men's, Women's and Best Halloween Costume!

Need a bike to participate? No Problem! just sign up, answer yes to the Loaner bicycle question and pay an extra $2 at registration on day of event.  Note that you must also sign a liability form for bicycle returned in like condition.  

Refreshments and snacks after the race.

Plus games and information for kids and adults on bicycling and sustainability. 

Javelina Students for Sustainability is a student organization at Texas A&M University-Kingsville that is dedicated to creating an environmentally sustainable and socially equitable community through action and education.
