(race date estimated)Race For Raynaud's Description
This is the first ever race for Raynaud's Syndrome. Raynaud's Syndrome is an autoimmune condition affecting 5-10% of all Americans and 20% of all women in their childbearing years. During attacks, small blood vessels of fingers and toes constrict when triggered by cold or stress, therefore, resulting in numbness, tingling, and pain. Fingers may change color (white, blue, and red). Although there are treatments available, there is no cure for this disease.
The purpose of this race is to bring awareness to this disease in hopes of improving treatment or even finding a cure. I encourage everyone to participate in this race whether you live with Raynaud's Syndrome and want to challenge yourself or your circulation OR just chose to support the cause and run a fun, exciting race.
