This was my third Norwegian Foot March, and the planning, coordination, and execution conducted this year were significantly below standard. Although I was told the unit had “two months to prep,” the event map and registration page were posted months in advance—indicating planning began early but degraded once responsibility shifted to 2‑19. The following deficiencies were observed: Major Issues!!! Water Shortages — The course was effectively black on water by the turnaround point, if not earlier. Improper Water Point Setup — Water stations used cans instead of Buffaloes, and participants were required to self‑fill, causing delays and congestion. NCO Oversight Failures — NCOs were observed sitting at water points rather than actively managing or assisting participants. Poor Support!!! Snacks were thrown on the ground instead of placed on tables. No organized snack setup before step‑off or during the event. Insufficient snacks provided before, during, and after the march. Roster & Registration Confusion — Two different websites were used, including one published the week prior. This caused day‑of issues with participants not appearing on the correct roster due to MWR/MCoE using different pages. General Planning & Execution Breakdown — Numerous indicators showed a lack of coordination, supervision, and quality control throughout the event. Moving the start time from midnight to 2100 was the only notable improvement. DO NOT LET 2-19 EVER RUN AN EVENT EVER AGAIN.

🤣 Why? Why would you not just start at Bldg. 4 and end at 4? Why utilize something that will need to be funded like fuel for transportation, 2. Folks will want to come and go to their POV, 3. Personal Emergency and 4. lastly avoiding parking/traffic jams at building 4/6/70
The Norwegian March was challenging, but I enjoyed it. It was a personal test of endurance, and now I am proud to have completed it
Goods- Great atmosphere, clear instructions and guidance, and a challenging course. Bads- No water available on the back half, support vehicles blinding everyone with high beams (on a night run). Will definitely go again next year.
