Navy Ball Virtual 5K Race Description
SUMMER WILL END SOON ENOUGH... And in preparation for the inevitable, I have declared that we all must do 5k in hopes of stopping the White Walkers! Or the Lannisters. Whatever your fancy!
Each finisher will recieve a Summer will End Soon Enough 5K medal that sports the House Stark direwolf and comes with a black ribbon. This is a VIRTUAL fun run/walk. You can do this anywhere you want, whenever and wherever is convenient for you and on your own terms!
What is a Virtual Race? A virtual race is a challenge that can be participated in wherever you are located. You don't have to run the streets if you don't wish to. Instead, you can walk around your neighborhood, walk or run on a treadmill in your home or gym, you can swim laps until you reach 3.1 miles, you can even participate in another race! As long as you get up and participate with us. Remember the designated dates are critical beacuse the race starts July 1 and ends July 31. That gives you 31 days to finish your challenge race. Have some fun and gear into your Games of Throne Character!!
Who can participate in the Challenge? Anyone can participate. However in order to recieve the Bling you must be a paid registrant prior to your taking the challenge. Kids are encouraged to get involved. As well as your four-legged warriors are invited to join the fun!
What will you get? A bib and an AWESOME Games of Throne Medal! AS WELL, by registering you will automatically be placed in a door prize for a chance to win a bib and medal holder! There are two door prizes! We love our bling!
How do you notify your completion of the challenge? When you're done, take a SELFIE and post it to the Facebook event thread with the date and time you accomplished your goal. We'll be watching and capture your achievement. Please give us permission at the time to use your photo in our collage of participants. If not permission is granted, we won't be able to share your success in the future. You can also email the photos to monica.perez@navy.mil for confirmation of your successful challenge completion.
Please remember this event is to raise awareness and funding for the 241ST NAVY BIRTHDAY BALL at NSA MID-SOUTH.
