Jarratt NCHI 3K & Wellness Fair

Dear Sir or Madame,

Zaki Temple No. 261 and Zaki Court No. 245 are constituents of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, incorporated (AEAONMS) and the Daughters of the Imperial Court, respectively, which is affiliated to the AEAONMS. We are a non-profit organization who strive to make a difference in the Town of Jarratt and Greensville and Sussex counties.

On Saturday, April 1, 2023 the National Community Health Initiative (NCHI) will be hosting a 3K Walk & Wellness Fair in Jarratt, Virginia. The walk will take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm beginning and ending at the Johns Mansville Clubhouse (112 S. Allen Rd, Jarratt, VA). Our walk aligns with the mission of the NCHI which aims to eliminate health inequalities by promoting education and awareness about illnesses and health issues that disproportionately affect communities of color. The Jarratt 3K Walk will be a charted route through the community, not just highlighting the main street in the town of Jarratt, but encouraging residents that they can walk anywhere.

The Wellness Fair will be a resource fair promoting total wellness. We want to provide interactive stations of specialists, consultants, and vendors covering wellness from head to toe. For example, we plan to have tables\demonstrations covering cross sections of diabetes, healthy hair, and nails tables, and breathing exercises to aid in mindfulness, a demonstration on cauliflower rice, and handouts about fiscal health. This will be the first time an event of this kind or magnitude has ever happened in this area.
