I don’t run

I don't know why I decided to do this race; I've always been slightly below adverage and hated to run. Maybe my running fanatic friend is wearing off on me. I was happy that it was virtual and I could do it on my own scedule. The 1st time I attempted this run was last Sunday. It was 5:30. Very early, Very Dark, started to rain, my organs screamed and my nose started bleeding. Very close to 5km and 40 minutes the app erased my progress. I cried, but all was well, because my Jesus was there. I ended up at the church building. The secound time I attempted this race was closer to 6:30 a day later. It was at Weber State right before institute. I actually brought a waterbottle, but was overcome by the beauty of the duck pond and switching over to my photo app one too many times and my progress was again deleted. This attempt was on trajectory to take 50 minutes and it had a lot more up and down hills. I'm not sure the waterborne helped, my organs were still screaming. The final time a handful of days later I switched running apps and started around 8am in the morning. Around 2.5km I wanted to call it quits. But instead I said aloud I bet you can't make it to that tree. Once there i bet you can't make it to that mailbox. Everything I'd respnd to myself 'I bet I can.' My big goal for my final race was to make a 5k in under 40 minutes, but it took dozens of small goals where I bet on myself. That seems very applicable to life. In summary running is hard but this homecoming recycling run taught me a lot. It's worth it.
