Father's Day 5K & 10K Race Description

The YMCA Father’s Day 5K & 10K  is open to everyone! Not just dads! Bring the whole family to create a unique and lasting family memory, participate with your father, in memory of your father, or just to celebrate fathers everywhere. Event is Chip Timed and winds through picturesque areas of Appleton, including the scenic Apple Creek Trail before a stadium finish at North High School.  Perfect for all ages and abilities.  Imagine, the fun you and your family could have!  If you want an unbeatable experience, then this is the race for you!

 

5K & 10K Start -  8:00 am

The 10K course closes at 9:30 am (Approximately 15 min/mile pace)

GREAT PRIZE GIVEAWAY! - All registered participants 18+ years of age are eligible to win a variety of great Father's Day themed raffle prizes! Drawing will occur just before the awards ceremony. Must be present to win!

AWARDS

Awards to the top 3 overall male and female participants in the 5K & 10K.  Awards also presented to the winner in each age group.  Age groups are: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19,20-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc. up to 70+

 

PROCEEDS BENEFIT:  Proceeds from the Father's Day 5K/10K run / walk benefit the YMCA Cancer Survivorship program, Bret Younger Track Scholarships and the YMCA World Service Campaign.  

What is the LIVESTRONG YMCA Cancer Survivorship Program?                                                

During this 12 week program, cancer survivors are supported by trained Y instructors that guide you safely to achieve your goals by helping build strength, increase flexibility and endurance, while improving confidence and self-esteem.  By focusing on the whole person and not the disease, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is helping people move beyond cancer in spirit, mind and body.

 

PARKING

Parking is available at Appleton North High School. Participants arriving after 6:30 am will have to enter parking lot off of Edgewood Dr. or Ballard Rd.  Ashbury Drive will be closed for the start of the race.

Packet Pickup 

Friday, June 15th, 3 - 5 pm @ Appleton YMCA, 218 E. Lawrence St.

Saturday, June 16th, 6:30 - 8 am @ Appleton North High School.

 

HOW DO I VOLUNTEER

Volunteers truly make a difference! If you would like to volunteer for this year's event, volunteers are needed in the following areas:

-Intersection Marshal's, water station, finish line, refreshments, registration and packet pickup.
