Fairfax USA Days Bridge The Community 5K Race Description
All new course and new starting location for 2026! Join us for the annual Fairfax USA Days 5K on Saturday, June 27th at the Fairfax Regional Sports Complex. The new course is nearly flat with a good mix of solid surface and gravel roads. This is a professionally timed event. Race statistics will be uploaded by the end of the day. Men's and women's prizes awarded for top finishers in various age categories. The route will be marked with directional signs and volunteers positioned at key intersections to help guide race participants. A manned water station will be at the half-way point.
Date: Saturday, June 27, 2026
New Location: Fairfax Regional Sports Complex, 625 Linn St, Fairfax, IA
Registration/Check-in: 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM - Under pavilion next to concession stand. Please park in the parking lot off Linn St. (next to ball diamond). The east lot on Fairfax Rd will be closed during the race.
Race Start: 8:00 AM
Awards: 8:45-9:00 AM
Kids Fun Run: Approximately 9:00 AM, following awards.
Entry Fee:
Online preregistration: Adults/Teens: $25, Kids 12 and under: $20 (plus transaction fee). Online registration ends Friday, June 26, 5:00 PM.
Day of Event Registration: Adults/teens: $30. Kids 12 & under: $25.

Charity Benefit:
All race proceeds will benefit Fairfax Lions Club community initiatives. We appreciate your support of this event! Any freewill donations will go to community initiatives.
Kids Fun Run!
A free Kids Fun Run will start after the 5K at approximately 9:00 AM. This event is not timed, it's all for fun to encourage future runners!
Course:
Start in east lot of Sports complex, turn right (south) on Fairfax Rd to Southview. Turn right (east) on Southview to turn-around point and head back to Fairfax Rd. Turn left (north) on Fairfax Rd and turn left (west) on Church St. Turn right (north) on Reynolds St and left (east) on Railroad. Turn left (south) on Park and go all the way to Linn St (T-intersection). Turn left (east) on Linn to Trail on east side of ball diamond. Turn right (south) on trail, go past the flags at the Vets Memorial. Turn right (east) on trail, circling the trail. Turn right at the south end of the east parking lot and follow markers to finish.

Age group competitor.
A good small town race to help with getting back to normal after Covid. Next year will be much better with more other events during the town celebration. This race has made efforts to improve each year. I look forward to next summer's event.
