Expanding Lives 5K

About Our Race

A family-friendly community race to fundraise for the Chicago-based nonprofit Expanding Lives. For more information check out www.expandinglives.org. Our event includes a 5K race for both adults and children, and lots of other kid's activities, followed by a raffle at the end. Race Info
June 17th - check-in and race day registration opens at 7:00am. The 5K race starts at 8:00am for runners and at 8:15am for walkers.

5K Race Course
The Expanding Lives 5K Run/Walk has a course that is run around Laramie Park, located in suburb of Skokie. The exact address for Laramie Park is 5251 Sherwin Avenue, Skokie, IL 60077. The course is an asphalt track, and parking can be found off of Niles Center Road or on Sherwin Avenue.

Registration
Before June 1st, registration fee is $30 for adults, $25 for teams, and $20 for children (12 or younger). After June 1st the fees are $35 for adults, $30 for teams, and $25 for children. Race day registration fees (exact cash only) – $40 for adults, $35 for teams, and $30 for children. One team consists of max 10 people. You can join a team or be a captain to make your own team. A team password can be shared and used at registration to sign up for a specific team.

Packet Pick Up
There will be no packet pick up. All registrants can check into the race the day of starting at 7AM.

Amenities and Prizes
Breakfast and water will be provided for all participants. T-shirts are ensured for all those (adult and children) who register before June 1st. Prizes are available for top finishers in each category and raffle prizes from local businesses are available for all.

Volunteers
If you are interested in volunteering at this event, please contact our volunteer coordinator at: jrboard@expandinglives.org. Volunteers are expected to help set up, facilitate, and clean up the race, from 5:30am to 12:00pm on June 17th. Volunteers will be given a free T-shirt and free breakfast for their help. We welcome volunteers that are not available for the entire time, but the T-shirt and breakfast will not be guaranteed.
