Great Challenge, could maybe use one or two minor tweeks

Overall had an incredible experience. I trained for this and finished strong. The downhills were incredible and it's a great feeling to know that I've ridden all across a whole giant swath of a range in one go. The support stations were well stocked and extremely helpful. The volunteers were uplifting and super eager to help the racers out. The side-by-side traffic on the forest service road was pretty demoralizing at times. I know there's know way to close that, but perhaps some increased awareness could be given to those recreators. If it's not already done, then maybe placing additional signage explaining when/where/and etiquette at the Mantua staging areas a few weeks ahead of time. I definitely saw a bit "heads ups" across various groups on social media, but hopefully the Eden Epic is able to partner with OHV groups and really make them aware of the race. Additionally, I saw a few racers using their own personal rolling support who was following on an e-moto. He/they were really nice and pretty courteous overall, but that seems like a bit much. I had to give way to the e-moto support vehicle a handful of times. That's what the 4 VERY well stocked and well spaced aid stations are for. If you can't wear headphones (good rule), then adding unnecessary trail traffic like this should be prohibited at well. Finally: bathrooms. Absolutely need a few additional port-a-johns there, even if just in the morning. Pre-race nerves and irregular sleep schedules - everyone is trying to use the same two Men's and one Women's toilet (one of the women's rooms was locked). Overall, excellent experience. I'm so glad I did it, and would really consider doing it again next year. I feel proud to tell others about it, and it's given me some inspiration to keep racing. Thanks!

Very Rewarding Experience

The first time I heard about the Eden Epic, I instantly thought that it was ridiculous and that I could never do it. After some gentle prodding from my wife, I knew it was something I could do if I put my mind to it. I trained hard and climbed as much as I could throughout the summer to make sure my legs could handle the course. I finished strong and well ahead of where I thought I would. It was the most rewarding race I have ever done and I look forward to doing it again this year in 2019.

My favorite!

I like to do quite a few endurance events every year, but this one has quickly become my favorite. It's not a big event in terms of the number of riders, but Josh and his team run it at a world-class level. The course is tough, the views are second to none, and the aid stations are well-stocked. I can't wait until registration opens up for next year's event.

It's called the Eden Epic fir a reason!

I've participated in the Eden Epic twice, and it's fantastic. You won't find better views during any other race. Mile for mile, it ranks up there as one of the toughest races in Northern Utah. Can you say chunk? The race organizer and volunteers are top notch. Thanks for putting on a great event!

EPIC

What an Epic ride! Not for the faint of heart by any means as it's a gruelling uphill with lots of grinding. But to roll through Willard Basin and up to Ben Lomond then descend to the divide and on from there is truly incredible. Rolling through Avon before the climb to Willard is also quite incredible and worth the journey alone. This year was quite the engagement with the rain at the front end, but made one hell of an adventure out of the race. Highly recommend.
