It was fun, except my tracker fell off my shoe during the race, and I had to run backwards to retrieve it. And if what I heard is true, then it says I never finished the race because I had the tracker in my hand, and it only works below the knee. Fun race, wish my tracker stayed on me
I love this race because almost everyone wins something, there are so many prizes! Great ways to win a turkey including picking one up on your run along the course and carrying it to the finish, dress-up awards, youngest, etc. We brought the whole family and there was a race for everyone, from a 50m for my 2 yr. old to a mile for my 12 yr. old and a 4 mile for me and my husband.
I have run this race many times. Today was most likely the last. I expected to be timed and run against my peers. Why ask for my age if the whole thing was a free for all? What I did get for my entry fee was a number which allowed me to run on a public street and the chance to run up and grab a turkey from some guy in a truck and carry it home. Which I could have done without paying. The course was marked well. They had a passable finish line and some snacks at the finish inside the recreation center. However I'll take my thanksgiving running budget somewhere else next year.
