The Dunbar Neighborhood Association will hold its first LET’S GO Dunbar 5K run/walk and health fair, May 4, 2019, in the city’s historic downtown neighborhood district as part of the center’s annual community festival in celebration of more than 60 years of rich in downtown Little Rock.
The run will the first in a series of community events held at the Dunbar Community Center to emphasize the importance of fitness, healthy lifestyles and wellness in the local African American community, including local black churches, said Dunbar Let’s GO Race Director Angel Burt.
The May 4, 2019, five- kilometer race will start and finish at the Community Center at 1001 West 16th Street in Little Rock, 72202. Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. and race to begin at 9:30 a.m., rain or shine. The tax-deductible registration fee is $25, except as noted. All runners, walkers and supporters are also invited back to the Community Center for post-race festivities that will include an awards ceremony for the top runners and church team participants, as well as plenty of healthy food and drinks, and music.
