Dino Dash- Dinah Soar Days

Calling all the dinosaurs! Fun annual Dino Dash celebrating Dinah Soar Hot Air Balloon Days!

Dino Dash August 22nd 7:30 pm! We're excited to see you! 

-Race starts at Main Street and 100 W. Check in @ 6:30pm-7:15pm (Grand Valley Bank)

-TO BE CONSIDERED FOR BEST COSTUME AND PRIZES- be at the starting line at 7:15 pm.  Race starts @ 7:30pm (run less than .5 of a mile) down Main Street.

-Live band!  Dress like a dinosaur! All ages encouraged to participate! How many dinosaurs can we get?! 

-IF YOU ARE AN UNREGISTERED PARENT RUNNING WITH A YOUNGER CHILD, PLEASE STILL HAVE SOME KIND OF DINO COSTUME ON. WE WOULD LIKE EVERYONE IN THE DASH TO BE A DINOSAUR! 

-Best costume wins a hot air balloon ride for 2. Other prizes given for top dino costumes, adults and youth.  Awesome custom race medal of Baby T-Rex hot air balloon for all runners!

-NEW THIS YEAR! Help Vernal beat the Guiness World Record of people in a dino costume in one place! 

WE'RE GOING FOR A WORLD RECORD!

Join us on August 22, 2025 at 7:30 PM (or for runners, immediately following the race) at the LampLighter downtown parking lot as Uintah County attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the most people dressed as dinosaurs in one place!

The number to beat: 468 dinos

FREE to join — just show up in a full head-to-toe dinosaur costume!

Be part of history, roar with the crowd, and represent Dinosaur Land like never before!

 

This year only, anyone in a dino costume will be allowed in the Dino Dash. However, only those registered will get swag, a custom race medal, and eligible to win the hot air ballon ride and other prizes. 

 

Right after the two block dino dash, head over to the parking lot right after the finish line to help break the record! 

 

Medals and prizes for best costume will be given immediately following the picture with Guiness World Records. There will be a booth across the street in front of the County Building to get your race medal and prizes. If you are not going to be in the contest (but please do!) you can wait and get your medal and prizes after the picture. (estimated finish time before 8 pm) Or pick up at a later date at Uintah Recreation 610 S. Vernal Ave.
