Cedar City Moonwalk 5K Race Description
If you like to walk or run at night and howl at the moon, come out for the Moonwalk 5k on the Cedar City East Bench Trail System on Saturday August 1st, 2026.
Taking place underneath the Buck Full Moon-this run, or walk if you prefer, has plenty of extras, including live music, moon pies, photo ops, and tons of out of this world fun including a FOAM PARTY finish line!
Start & Finish Line:
The run will start at 1120 W Greens Lake Drive (LDS Church parking lot pavilion) on the East Bench Trail and finish at West Canyon Park (Ann J. Gardner Park) along the "crick" or as some call it "creek".
Shuttle Services will be included with registration.
Check-In/Bib/Shirt Pickup: Participant Check-in will take place at the starting line at 7:30 PM. However, we encourage participants to pick up their bib and shirt the day before (Friday, July 31st) at the City Hall Council Chamber from 5pm-9pm.

BIB AND SHIRT PICKUP
We recommend picking up your bib and shirt the night before on Friday, July 31st from 5-9pm at the City Hall Council Chamber (10 N. Main Street). You may pickup your bib and shirt at the start line from 7:30pm-9:00pm. Keep in mind this will be a hectic time. We highly recommend pickup the day before. EVENT PARKING
PARKING
Parking is available at the starting line. Shuttle services will bring all racers from the finish line back to the parking lot at the starting line. Shuttle services are included in registration.

AID STATION
One Aid Station will be available approximately halfway through the course. They will have water or electrolyte drinks available. Porta Johns, garbage cans, blister, and band-aid kits will also be available at the Aid Station.
TRANSFERS AND DEFERMENTS
Every runner must register online and must wear a bib to run. No bandit runners are allowed! Refunds are not offered for this race however, transfers or deferments for medical reasons are allowed until 10 days before the event (July 22nd, 2026) on a limited case-by-case basis with associated fees.
RESULTS AND AWARDS
Your results will be available shortly after you cross the finish line, and will be posted online as soon as possible at cedarcity.org/Moonwalk. Results will also be texted to finishers through our timing system, Brooksee.
Awards will be given to 5K Run participants in the following age brackets:
- 14 and under
- 15-19
- 20-29
- 30-39
- 40-49
- 50-59
- 60-69
- 70+
SHIRTS, MEDALS AND EXTRAS
- Every runner will receive a timed bib, glow-in-the-dark race shirt, and goodies at the finish line.
- Every participant that crosses the finish line will receive a medal!
REGISTRATION
Online registration closes on Friday, July 31st, 2026, at 11:59 pm. Please be aware that bibs will be assigned and there will be no in-person registration for this event on race day.
POST-RACE FOOD
Moon Pies, fruit, and other galactic treats will be available at the finish line.
